Born in England in 1879 and came to Princeton in 1912. He worked with Mine Rescue, and lived in Princeton, Hedley, Coalmont and Nanaimo. A veteran of Boer War or the 1st W.W One of the charter members of the Legion. Sim. Star He married Amelia (Millie) Horricks Gilham on Jan. 17, 1914 in Princeton. She was born in Bolton, Lancs., England on August 4, 1889. Married by Rev. Gomer G. Griffiths in the 1st Anglican Church – First couple to be married in that church. They had two sons: Samson Alfred Gould Sr., born December 25, 1914 and George Milner, born April 1, 1921, both in Princeton. Feb 26/64 50th wedding anniversary jan 15/1914 Star Sub. 9/45 add. Princeton 9/46 add. Nanaimo 1931 Appointed Superintendent of new Mine Rescue Station. Well-known first aid man in Similkameen and Vancouver Island. Member of the Sim. Hist. Assn. in 1933. Alfred Gould died in Victoria in 1969.
