Gourlay, Catherine (Forsyth)
Robert Gourlay
Catherine Forsyth was born in Balgonie, Fifeshire, Scotland. She was the daughter of David Forsyth, Sr. and Ann (Bruce) Forsyth. She came to Canada with her husband, Robert Gourlay in 1908. She died at her home in Princeton on January 5, 1941.
Robert and Catherine came to Princeton in 1910. She was a founding member of Vermilion Rebekah Lodge #24 in Princeton, along with her husband. In May 1910, they were having a cabin built on Tapton Avenue and in 1912, they built an addition to that home.
She contributed fruit to the Princeton Hospital in 1913, and later that year (in October), the family moved to Merritt with the Cunningham’s (Eliza Cunningham was Catherine’s sister) and had returned by January 1916.
