George Gurr was born in 1909 Died Dec. 20/74 age 65 Princeton Village Commission: 1951-1952, 53, 54, 55 Moved to Oliver 1970
Mortician With Mortuary ran ambulance for town until it was taken over by Kinsmen Spotlight Dec. 4/ 1974 Came to Princeton in 1941 with his family from Victoria. Bought Princeton Mortuary (Behind the old Princeton Hotel)
Also owned grocery store on Allison Flats Involved in G. & H. Sawmill (also investment in Insurance Co) Late 1950’s started freight service with 4 trucks. Had contract built 21 miles of Transcanada Highway near Roger’s Pass.
Past Master Masonic Lodge (Sim. No. 95) 1967
New Mortuary Building built Bridge St. which he sold 1970 to Alf & Carolyn Lee Magistrate & Judge since 1962 (Commuted from Osoyoos for last 3)
