Lena (Pickard) Jones
Known as Strawberry Jones because he grew strawberries. Came to Princeton 1912. Ranched on Five Mile. From Moro, Oregon. Born August 28, 1885 in Silverton Oregon and passed April 25, 1980. They were married in Moro, Oregon, on April 12, 1909. They came to Canada on April 6, 1912 (To Princeton). He worked with Charlie Gore on some of the houses in town. He also worked at Copper Mountain, the old cement plant and Tulameen. He worked for the DeMuth’s sawmill, falling timber. They lived in a tent house in town, then moved to away back of Jura in 1915. In April 1917, they moved to Five Mile Creek, where they planted and sold strawberries and vegetables. In 1954 they moved to 76 Fenchurch Ave. They celebrated their 69th Wedding Anniversary on April 12, 1978 and their 71st in 1980.
