Long, Bertha (Gibson)
Bertha came to Princeton in 1905 at eight weeks of age with her father, Sam Gibson, his wife and three siblings. They pre-empted a quarter section on the Jura Range. With his two brothers, they built a store near the Jura Station, developed a sawmill and had a blacksmith shop. Bertha was the Postmistress at Jura. She married Bert Long in Penticton on August 4, 1924. They lived for a time on her father’s homestead and had three children.
