He ranched seven miles down river in 1899. Married Lily Allison, daughter of Jon Fall Allison and Nora Allison (Yakumtikum). Listed in the 1895 Directory as a Rancher. The Norman children, Catherine (Mrs. Carl Haywood), Maggie, Grace, Leala, Flora and John Jr. attended D’arcy Mtn. school.
