September 19, 1916. Horse buyers for the French government. They wanted large animals, 15 hands and bigger, for war purposes. They were paying $130 for a Light Artillery Horse weighing between 1100 and 1250 pounds and $140 for a Heavy Artillery Horse weighing over 1250 pounds. Mares and Geldings were accepted.
