Coalmont Buildings, CA. 1965
The house in the foreground is the old carpenter shop built by Coalmont architect, D.R. Boucher in 1912. The building has been a pay office for the G.N.R., real estate office, ice cream parlour, mining office, post office and, in 2008, the office of the Mozey-On-Inn motel. It is currently a private residence. The building was moved 3 times and is now located at the corner of Main St. and Parrish Ave. The photo in the background is architect D.R. Boucher’s house built in 1912. It was located on the corner of Front Street and Parrish Avenue (across from the General Store). The Bouchers lived in Coalmont until 1927. When Walt Smart built the Coalmont Emporium on that lot, the house was moved to Columbia Street. It was eventually torn down.
