Albert Aldous was born on June 26, 1906 in Lorlie, Saskatchewan. He married Evelyn Obleman (1905-1994) and they had three children (Earl Walter Robert, Audrey Florence, and Doreen). Evelyn and Albert divorced and he married Florence May (Higgs) Parsons on July 16, 1946 in Princeton, BC. This marriage was dissolved on May 17, 1957. He then married Amalia Morffydd “Mauvie” Baird. He died on February 14, 1985 in Princeton and is buried in the Princeton Cemetery.
Albert came to Princeton at the invitation of his uncle, George Aldous. He was a farmer until he moved to Princeton in 1936 where he worked in coal mines, had a trucking business (Aldous and Kolbo Transfer). In June 1939, he moved on to the ranch on Coalmont Road that had been occupied by George Aldous. His partner in the business continued the business in Princeton. The 1948 British Columbia and Yukon Directory (Sun Directories Ltd.,) lists “A.E. Aldous, farmer.”
He then worked for Public Works, then went into logging. In 1949, his son, Earl Walter Robert Aldous, died in a logging truck. The next day, Albert Aldous was in a serious collision with the same truck on Allison Flats. He was unhurt but the truck was badly damaged.
