Janet Hicks was born in Princeton, BC, in 1949. She married John Izard. She died on May 6, 2014 at the Toronto General Hospital with her family present. For four months, she had valiantly battled infections following her liver transplant.
She graduated from the University of British Columbia with a teaching degree, was a passionate gardener, golfer and dog lover.
